Collecting antiques and art objects has accompanied me since my youth. From this fascination emerged the idea to open an own store.
To qualify for this challenge, I trained as a carpenter which gave me an understanding of wood as working material. During this time, I gained access to classical methods of processing and restoration as for example the hand-polishing with shellac (french polish) and veneering.
In 1992, I opened my shop in the Große Elbstraße 262 in Hamburg with a variety of furniture and accessories of the 18th and early 19th century, especially the Biedermeier period.
Experience has shown that the creative combination of Biedermeier objects with mordern furniture allows a contemporary approach to furnishing concepts.
Our store in Hamburg Altona, situated directly next to Habitat and opposite the well-known restaurant “Au Quai”, offers a wide range of furniture and other Biedermeier artifacts in eight adjacent rooms.
Maybe our small shopwindow won’t let you suggest, but we always have a large contingent of furniture in our shop – and even more in our warehouse. The quantity of our stock reveals immediately after entering. So please be free to come in!
Our permanent product range comprises:
Chairs, armchairs, commodes & chests, display cabinets, bookcases, tables, extendable dining tables, pedestals, secretaires, armoires, bergeres, consoles, desks, mirrors, clocks, chandeliers, antique stoves, crafts and paintings.
If you miss something, please ask! We might have some freshly arrived items in our warehouse.
